ARE YOU READY FOR THE

BEST SUMMER EVER?

Y Camp provides an amazingly unique opportunity for campers to be who they are in a supportive community while exploring new skills and improving existing ones.  The Y Day Camp experience begins and ends at the Sandusky County YMCA each day of the summer for children going into K - 5th grades. Focused on youth development, crafting strong community, and building friendships, our programming allows campers to progress in their skill development in a variety of activities under the mentoring of amazing staff.


WHAT IS SPORTS CAMP?
YMCA Summer Sports Camp focuses on improving sport skills through teamwork and friendly competition.  There will be a variety of sports to choose from with each session lasting four days.  Sports campers will be given the opportunity to learn and develop new skills, build on skills already developed, all while making new friends.

 

WHO ARE SPORTS CAMPS FOR?
Any youth ages 6 - 12 years of age who have
an interest in developing sport specific skills and open to making new friends.
All skill levels are welcome!

 

This year, the Sandusky County YMCA is offering a variety of sports camps
during the summer including: Soccer, Basketball, Tennis, Baseball and
Volleyball.  Camps are for players of all ability levels.  Join us to learn new skills this summer in a fun, positive environment.  Length of camp, times, days and age groups may vary with each camp.

SPORT SPECIFIC CLINICS


SOCCER CLINIC
Join our instructor - RAFAEL CHAVEZ – for foot skills, fitness & FUN!  Individual coaching on skills, small-sided games, control, possession, and defense techniques will be focused on.

Clinic Dates:     JULY 10 - JULY 14
Time:               11:00am - 12:30pm

 

VOLLEYBALL CLINIC
Join our instructor - Heather Keller - for five-days for all skill levels and abilities.  This clinic will focus on jump training, basic skill/fundamentals, movement on the court and learning the basics of competitive play.  Please bring knee pads .

Clinic Dates:     9 & 10 yr old      JUNE 19 - 23
11 & 12 yr old     JUNE 26 - 30
Time:               8:00am - 9:30am

 

TENNIS CLINIC
Join our instructor - Larry Michaels – for our tennis clinic.  Four days covering all of the basic ground strokes, serving, overheads, volleys and scorekeeping.  Please bring their own tennis racquet.

Time:               10:00am - 11:30am

 

BASKETBALL CLINIC
Join Fremont Ross Legend and Hall of Fame Inductee - John Lewis - for an energetic basketball clinic!  This clinic will emphasize on the development of individual skills and team play including: ball handling, defense, footwork, offense, rebounding, shooting and more.

Clinic Dates:     AUGUST 7 - AUGUST 11
Time:               4:00pm - 5:30pm

 

ALL DAY SPORT CAMPS

FUN CAMP                      OFFERED:  JUNE 5 - 9        JULY 10 - 14             AUG 14 - 18
Fun Camp will focus on non-traditional sports and other fun activities and games such as: capture the flag, Disc Golf, dodgeball, beach games, and more.  This week will be all about having fun!


BASKETBALL CAMP       OFFERED:  JUNE 12 - 16    JULY 17 - 21
Campers learn skills which help improve shooting, passing, and dribbling. Individual skill sessions will be held in the morning and team games will be played in the afternoon.


ALL SPORT CAMP          OFFERED: JUNE 19 - 23     AUGUST 7 - 11
All sport camp is a combination of all of the camp weeks. Campers will be engaging in a multitude of sports including: basketball, baseball, soccer, football, volleyball and other non-traditional sports.


BASEBALL CAMP            OFFERED: JUNE 26 - 30
Campers will learn skills which help improve fielding and hitting. Morning sessions will focus on fielding drills and afternoon sessions will focus on hitting and games.


FOOTBALL CAMP           OFFERED: JULY 3 - 7
Flag Football Camp will focus on developing skills needed in football. Participants will learn to pass, receive, run effective routes, defend, and understand play calls. Games will take place throughout the camp.  NO CAMP ON JULY 4TH.


VOLLEYBALL CAMP       OFFERED: JULY 24 - 28
Campers will participate in skills and drills to help improve the essential skills in volleyball like serving, setting, bumping, spiking, rules, positions, and floor rotations.  Campers focus on skills and drills in the morning and scrimmages/game like activities in the afternoon.


SOCCER CAMP               OFFERED: JULY 31 -  AUG 4
Soccer camp will focus on developing skills to improve offensive and defensive performance. Players will participate in individual skills during the morning session and focus on team games in the afternoon session
